Staying outside of Lucerne? No problem! Simply meet your guide at the iconic Torbogen (the Arch Monument) just outside Lucerne’s main train station—easy to find and centrally located.

Day's Overview
We begin our journey at Lucerne’s main station, where a short train ride brings us to Arth-Goldau, the gateway to Mount Rigi. Here, we step aboard the Rigi historic cogwheel train, gently ascending to Rigi Kulm at 1,800 meters (5,400 ft), the mountain’s majestic summit.
A short walk leads us to the very top, where a 360° panoramic view unfolds before us.
On clear days, the vista stretches beyond the Swiss Alps to include glimpses of France and Germany, a breathtaking start to our day.

By late morning, we begin our scenic hike toward a delightful highlight of the tour: “Chäserenholz,” a traditional mountain cheese farm owned by local dairyman Franz Toni Kennel.
After a 20-minute walk, we arrive at this rustic gem, perched on the mountainside. With a bit of luck, we’ll step inside to see how Alpine cheese is made and stored, an authentic taste of Swiss tradition.
Lunch is a charming alpine BBQ prepared by your guide, with the fresh mountain air and sweeping views as your dining backdrop.
In winter, we cozy up in a local mountain restaurant for a warm, light meal.
After lunch, we continue our hike along the well-marked Wanderweg trail, winding through serene forests and past open meadows. After about an hour, we arrive at Rigi Kaltbad.
For over 600 years, this legendary spa town has drawn visitors to its healing mineral waters, a tradition proudly carried on today by the elegantly designed wellness facility created by renowned architect Mario Botta, a modern homage to centuries of rejuvenation.

We conclude our alpine adventure with a Lake Lucerne boat for a serene 40-minute cruise across the water, offering one last opportunity to soak in the stunning mountain scenery from a new perspective.
We arrive back in Lucerne around 5:00 pm, where your guide will personally accompany you to your hotel and happily share recommendations for local restaurants, boutique shops, or evening strolls.
