You will meet Your Guide at Zurich’s main train station, at 8:30 am directly under the “Meeting Point” sign located beneath the Big Clock, an easy and central landmark in the station.

Day's Overview
After an hour train ride you will arrive at Walenstadt, the old “garrison city” of Switzerland. If you feel like it, you can start your hike from here (about 11 km/7 miles).
Alternatively, your guide will take you by local bus to Walenstadtberg, a hill above the city, where a shorter version of the hike can start.
Over the next 7 km/4,5 miles you will enjoy an unparalleled views on the blue waters of fiord-like Lake Walen.

Admire the rugged silhouettes of Churfirsten rock formations and the pristine nature of the southern side of the valley.
After 2,5 hours you will reach the car-free village of Quinten. Here you can admire unusually exotic nature – thanks to its protected location and southern exposure, Quinten enjoys a truly Mediterranean climate with palm trees, kiwi fruits and grapevine.
Enjoy a lunch break here before hopping on a boat for a quick ride across the lake to Murg, where you will board the train back to Zurich.
